Middle School

Kona Pacific offers a vibrant middle school program that blends the arts, Hawaiian Studies, and agricultural education with Common Core standards. During these years, we focus on supporting students as they transition toward greater independence, encouraging them to take increasing ownership of their learning.

Students move from a single class teacher model to a structure with multiple subject-area teachers, including main lesson, English Language Arts, and mathematics. This shift supports academic depth while fostering responsibility, organization, and self-direction.

Middle school learning is enriched through a strong emphasis on place-based education, with field trips and experiences centered on field study, cultural learning, and community engagement. Students also look forward to meaningful traditions and events throughout their journey, including Medieval Games and an end-of-year class trip.

Together, these experiences help students grow academically, socially, and personally as they prepare for high school and beyond.
